Create an illustration of fruit or vegetables. One illustration for each of the ranges: Summer, Autumn

I have started with the question of the poster picture that I wanted to buy immediately and eat. That can be for example a large piece of watermelon for the whole poster in the hyperrealism style. One can see on that poster in the heath weather and think that the drops of real juice flow down.

It`s not easy to draw food. And I realise that my drawing skills do not allow me to draw the fruit`s juiciness. I am usually happy that the fruit I have drawn is like the real one. There is also a difficulty with vegetables. I do not find crude vegetables palatable at all. But I want to draw a good poster. One can make an accent for example on the unusual attractive composition of fruits.

An Italian artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo is famous for his extravagant pictures with the drawings of people faces made with fruits and vegetables. Arcimboldo created a series ofallegorical paintings of the Four Seasons, all depicted as profile busts. One can see his pictures below.

His pictures summer and autumn are drawn especially for our task. The scale is different but the colours are very dark.

There are also unusual food landscape paintings made by Carl Warner, an English photographer.

What one can do more? Pay a maximal attention to the poster`s special atmosphere. I did that. The autumn poster must be bright, mature and rich. And the summer one light, luminous and frash. Above all the should revive the customers`s spirits.

I decided to work with the coloured pencils. Working on the task ‘Exploring drawing and painting’ I have tried drawing with the aquarelle pencils on the black paper for the first time. I liked it and wanted to repeat. I have started with the autumn vegetables. Firstly I have not succeeded but I have not surrender. One can see the evolution of my pictures below.
